During my time in retail people have asked me many questions and I have compiled many of them into 3 categories. The categories are health, self, and relationships!
Mastery comes from consistency.
Consistency Requires Discipline.
Distractions inhibit Discipline.
We’re getting momentum right!! We are on a roll. We discussed how we can master positive change in our health, we’re almost at the end of week 2 for mastering positive change in our self…
Let’s not fall off the wagon yet! Lets not succumb to the D-word. = DISTRACTIONS!!!
The average person spends 2.5 hours per day on distraction.
One of the top killers of momentum is distractions!
I’m going to share with you 2 ways to be a ninja about moving distractions!
With the rise of social media, email, and television, there are so many other things that we would rather be doing instead of living out our life plan…
There may be a place for watching a “people do awesome things” for 3 hours straight, just not every day.
For the next 2 weeks can you get rid of many of the distractions in your life?
2 Ways to get rid of distractions:
1. Avoid things (technology) that waste time. If you know day after day you have gotten into a routine that is not beneficial to you in any way, you are not learning at all, and it’s almost debilitating to you…. time to stop.
Don’t check email and your social media platforms 1st thing in the morning.
If you are someone who gets distracted very easily, it’s going to be challenging for you to create your own life plan and stick to it. You’re always chasing after someone else…. A friend, a family member, a co-worker. Stop that right now, you have important things to take care of…you.
2. Create a Project List
What 3 Projects are you going to complete before the end of the year?
We have 3 months left my Phriends on the Pharm. Check out our Membership Site for more information!
What 3 projects are you going to complete? When you have those projects break each project down into 3 steps to completion.
I call it A.C.T = Activate Combat Terminate.
I got this from my husband, he is so good at removing distractions, which is one of the reasons that he is so successful. He’s the terminator in our house. I’m interviewing him next week, during our week on relationships…
Each project has to follow this framework. A framework is just a way of organizing information. For your project, you have a beginning step (Activate). The Middle step (Combat – anything worth achieving is going to be difficult.) Terminate (Finish and Celebrate The Wins).
- Project One: Teach kids to tie shoes. – Activate – Get shoes with laces. Talk with kids. Combat – Patience. Cocktails. Block Time: I will spend 1 hour 4 days a week teaching my child how to tie his shoe. Kid responsible to tie shoes consistently every day. Terminate – Shoes tied. Celebrate the Wins. New pair of shoes for Christmas. More cocktails.
- Project Two: Paint Room. Activate – Decide on color. Find funds. Combat – Move shit around. Hiring. Pay for paint. Terminate – Room Finished.
When one begins to live life as if productivity is a necessity, they will then begin to minimize the distractions. It is necessary to be productive to move the needle in your life.
“Until tomorrow, self-love yourself, what is more important than you?!”
