May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Skin Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the country, and more than 1 million people in the United States are diagnosed each year. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main cause of skin cancer. Skin Cancer can be prevented and is almost always cured when it is found and treated early. Your pharmacist can help prevent skin cancer by recommending the appropriate sunscreen to use.

Pearls:

*Stay out of the sun between 10 am and 4 pm*.

*Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher*.

*Reapply after swimming, sweating, excessive sweating, or every 2 hours*.
